IELTS is available in two test formats – Academic or General Training and provides a valid and accurate assessment of the four language skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking.
The test format includes:
Listening and speaking tests are same for both Academic and General training but there is a sight difference in reading and writing test.
Listening audios and answering questions, 4 section, 40 questions, 30 minutes (approx). At the end of the test, 10 minutes will be given to the candidates to transfer the answers to the answer sheet.
Reading passages and answering questions, 3 passages, 40 questions, 60 minutes.
Reading passages and answering questions, 3 sections, 4/5 shorter passages and 1 long passage, 40 questions, 60 minutes. Answers must be transferred to the answer sheet within 60 minutes.
Two questions, report writing and discursive (similar with essay) writing, 60 minutes.
